Box Score Sophomore Dan Andrews (Rochester, NY/Franklin) ran for 149 yards to win the regular-season Empire 8 rushing title and eclipse the 1,000-yard season rushing milestone for the second consecutive year but it was not enough for The College at Brockport Football team as the Golden Eagles closed out the 2014 season with a 55-21 loss to Buffalo State in an Empire 8 game Saturday on Bob Boozer Field at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium in Brockport.
Andrews scored on a 27-yard run to cap a four-play drive in the first quarter and cut the Buffalo State (7-3 Overall, 5-3 Empire 8) lead to 8-7 but the Bengals score three more times before the end of the first quarter to take a 24-7 lead. Buffalo State extended the lead in the second quarter with two more TDs before Brockport (5-5, 3-5) scored on a long pass play from Chase Venuto (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) to Nate Wilkinson (Elma, NY/Iroquois) and a 42-yard scoring play as the Bengals led 38-14.
Buffalo State tacked on one more TD before the end of the first half and took a 45-14 lead into the halftime intermission.
In the second half the Bengals scored 10 points with a TD and a short 22-yard field goal and were held scoreless in the first quarter.
Wilkinson added another long scoring catch in the fourth quarter with a 46-yard reception for the final scoring margin.
Andrews finished the season with 1,106 yards averaging over 110 yards on the season. Venuto was 17-of-38 passing for 200 yards and two touchdowns but was intercepted three times. Wilkinson had 88 yards with his two catches that both ended up in the end zone as eight different players had catches for Brockport.
Freshman Nick Vallone (Depew, NY/St. Mary's) had 182 yards on six kickoff returns including one for 51 yards.

Jake Brickler (Hilton, NY/Hilton) led Brockport with 11 tackles while senior
Anthony Bianchi (Rochester, NY/Aquinas) had 10 tackles and a pass break-up.
Brynell Middleton (Lockport, NY/Lockport) had a pair of pass break-ups and freshman
Anthony Zona (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) had a blocked extra point.
