Box Score

Sophomore Clifton Lyerly (Inwood, NY/Lawrence) and Aaron White (North Tonawanda, NY/Canisius) poured in 19 points each to lead all scorers for The College at Brockport Men's Basketball team in a 66-63 win Saturday afternoon in a non-conference game in Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium in Brockport.

Lyerly scored 14 of his 19 points in the first half as Brockport (1-2) opened up an early 35-24 lead at the half time intermission. White scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half as Brockport held on down the stretch for its first win of the season.

A fast break dunk by Lyerly and a three-pointer by White with 4:41 left in the second half gave Brockport a 10-point lead at 61-51 but St. Lawrence (0-2) rallied for a 10-4 run over the next four minutes to trim the lead to four points at 65-61 with 56 seconds to play.

White's free throw at the 23-second mark made it a five point game before the Saints hit two free throws with 10 second to play making it a one-possession game at 66-63.

After a pair of misses from the line for Brockport, St. Lawrence had a desperation three-pointer that would have tied the game fall short and the Golden Eagles escaped with the victory.

Lyerly and White led all scorers with their 19 points apiece while junior Daniel Aiello (Syracuse, NY/Solvay) added 10 points and a team-leading 12 rebounds and Olusola Adeniran (Elmont, NY/Sewanhaka) added seven points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots for the Golden Eagles.

Brockport will play Tuesday at Manhattanville before returning home after the Thanksgiving break for the Wendy's College Classic Tournament starting Wednesday, December 3 as Brockport hosts a first round set of games at 6 and 8 pm with the Golden Eagles playing at 8 pm. The matchups for the tournament will be announced Sunday, November 30 at the annual pre-tournament dinner and Wendy's College Classic all of Fame induction dinner.
