Box Score Senior Alyssa Mills (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) scored a first half goal to tie the score at 1-1 but The College at Brockport Field Hockey team surrendered a goal in the first two minutes of the second half and fell by a 2-1 score on the road to Hartwick College Saturday morning in Oneonta.
Hartwick (2-5) score in the 21st minute to take the 1-0 lead off a penalty corner and Mills answered just under five minutes later to knot the score at 1-1. Mills lined up a shot from 15 yards out and scored the unassisted goal for the equalizer.
Early in the second half, The Hawks off a crossing pass from the right side of the arc for the go-ahead and eventual winning goal just 1:16 into the period.
"I was happy with the way we played today especially after the emotional win over Oswego last night," said Head Coach Andrea Zurlo. "It was a solid team effort."
Sophomore Lindsay Farrell (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) made five saves in the Brockport goal.
The shots were tied at 6-6 in the first half but Hartwick held a 7-3 advantage in the second half. Each team also had six penalty corners in the first 35 minutes and the Hawks led 7-2 in the category over the final 35 minutes.
