Freshman Hamed Shamseldin (Lawrence, NY/Lawrence) paced The College at Brockport Men's Basketball offense, in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game, leading to a decisive 67-56 win on the road against Oneonta Saturday afternoon.

Brockport (5-5, 2-1 SUNYAC) took the lead on Patrick Modzelewski's (Brooklyn, NY/Msgr. McClancy) layup and never relinquished the lead throughout the game. The Golden Eagles played an aggressive style of offense, getting to the line 35 times as compared to the Red Dragon's 18 free throws.

Sophomore Aaron White (North Tonawanda, NY/Canisius) scored eight points in the first half hitting two big three pointers to help stretch the Golden Eagles lead to double digits. With just under 13 minutes remaining in the half, White hit a trey that put Brockport ahead 20-8 and hit another triple with about five minutes remaining to increase the lead to 30-13. Matthew Smith (East Northport, NY/Northport) closed out the scoring for Brockport driving down the lane for an open layup, as the Golden Eagles led 34-18 at the half.

Shamseldin kept Brockport together in the second half. As Oneonta made several runs to cut the lead to single digits. Shamseldin scored 10 of his 17 points in the second half converting six of his nine free throws. White was clutch with his free throws making seven of nine from the line.

Shamseldin led the team with his 17 points, three steals and in rebounds with nine. White added 15 points in the game while sophomore Jon Carnegie (Syracuse, NY/Bishop Grimes) added instant offense off the bench. Carnegie scored eight points in 13 minutes of play. Levi Pace (Medina, NY/Medina) led Brockport with two blocked shots.

Brockport returns to action at home Tuesday in another SUNYAC contest against Oswego at 5:30 pm.
