Junior Lily Jagodzinski (Tonawanda, NY/Williamsville North) scored a team-high 9.65 on the balance beam and added a 9.70 score on floor exercise leading The College at Brockport Gymnastics team to an impressive 189.100 score Saturday afternoon with a victory over Springfield College (183.450) in the home opening meet for the Golden Eagles in the Tuttle North Gymnastics Center in Brockport.

The 189.100 score is the highest of any team at the NCAA Division III level so far this season.

Seniors Stephanie Schuler (Purcellville, VA/Hickory) and Lexi King (Glendale, AZ/Mountain Ridge) added the high scores for Brockport (2-0) on the other three events. Schuler scored a team-best 9.625 on the vault and had a 9.725 on bars to lead the Golden Eagles. King had a near flawless routing on the floor to lead Brockport with a 9.80 score earning identical 9.8 scores from each of the two judges.

Brockport started impressively with a 47.525 team score on the vault as each of the five scoring gymnasts had at least a 9.425 in the event. Schuler had the top score and Amanda Carney (Walpole, MA/Walpole) was next with a 9.525 followed by King and fellow senior Olivia Sylvestro (Palm City, FL/Martin County) who each scored 9.475 and freshman Brittany Vasile (Erie, PA/Iroquois) rounded out the scoring with her 9.425.

Schuler led the team on the uneven bars in the second rotation while Caitlin Elsadek (Nokomis, FL/Venice) added a 9.475 and senior Natalie Manga (Fresh Meadows, NY/Benjamin Cardoza) scored a 9.4.

Brockport dominated the balance beam led by Jagodzinski's top score of 9.65 as sophomore Jen Sklenar (Canfield, OH/Cardinal Mooney) added a 9.50, Schuler scored a 9.45 and sophomore Kendal Hamer (Ocala, FL/Trinity Catholic) earned a 4.25 for Brockport.

On floor, King helped Brockport to its highest event score capping the day with a 47.800 team score on the event. Jagodzinski had the second-highest score with her 9.7 routine, Vasile added a 9.50, Sylvestro scored a 9.45 and Carney rounded out the scoring with a 9.35. Sophomore Jill Daddario (Amherst, NY/Sweet Home) was inserted into the Brockport lineup for floor at the last minute and scored a 9.3 with the first routine of the rotation.
