The SUNY Brockport women's gymnastics team is set to compete at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) National Championships, hosted by SUNY Cortland, on Friday at 2 p.m.

Hall of Fame Weekend: The festivities will begin on Thursday with team practices, followed by the 2026 NCGA Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Brockport will have two former Golden Eagles inducted into the Hall of Fame, including former coach John Feeney, who led Brockport to NCGA National titles in 2012 and 2019, along with nine NCGA East Regional titles. Feeney's gymnasts earned 130 All-America honors, including 16 national champions. The NCGA will also induct former Golden Eagle Lauren (Gildemeyer) LaVine, a nine-time All-American and the 2008 floor exercise national champion. In 2010, she qualified for the NCAA Division I Regional Championship on the floor and finished 14th. She was inducted into the Brockport Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015.
Regional Dominance: The Brockport women's gymnastics program has now won six consecutive NCGA East Regional titles, including five under current head coach Dr. Rene Lyst (2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026). The Golden Eagles secured the 2026 regional crown in Rhode Island on March 7, posting a season-high score of 193.675 on their way to a first-place finish and a guaranteed spot at this weekend's national meet.
Nationals History: Brockport looks to add another national title to its trophy case this weekend. The Green and Gold have two national crowns to their credit, winning championships in 2012 and 2019. Brockport finished sixth last year and fourth in 2024.
Putting It All Together: The Golden Eagles currently rank fourth nationally in the team all-around with a season average score (SAS) of 192.5625. Brockport also owns the third-highest single meet score in Division III this season after posting a 193.675 at regionals.
Floor Perfection: Brockport is the top team in Division III on the floor exercise with a team SAS of 49.0000 and is one of just two teams in the country with a season-high score of 49+ on the floor.
Top Five Rankings: Brockport ranks fourth nationally on the balance beam with a team SAS of 48.3875 and a season high of 48.775. The Golden Eagles are also ranked in the top five nationally on the uneven bars with a team SAS of 47.5813 and a season-high score of 47.875. Brockport also ranks in the top five in the country on vault with a team SAS of 48.2000 and a season high of 48.275.
One of the Best: Kiara Hockman has been one of the top all-around gymnasts in Division III this season. She enters nationals ranked second nationally on vault with a season average score of 9.8063 and a top mark of 9.825. Hockman also ranks second nationally on the balance beam with an SAS of 9.8188 and a season high of 9.875, and second nationally on the floor exercise with an SAS of 9.8438 and a season high of 9.875. She has earned NCGA East Athlete of the Week honors multiple times this season.
Key Pieces on Bars: Emma Brookins enters nationals as Brockport's highest-ranked competitor on the uneven bars, currently sitting 10th nationally with a season average score of 9.7000 and a season high of 9.750.
Alyssa Strain also ranks in the top 10 nationally, sitting eighth on the uneven bars with an SAS of 9.7563 and a season-high score of 9.800.
Deep on the Floor: Jamarie Saravia ranks in the top 10 nationally on vault (9.7938 SAS), while
Kayla Gleason ranks 11th nationally on floor with an SAS of 9.7813.
Claire Wood ranks 15th nationally on floor (9.7688), and
Emma Brookins ranks 19th nationally (9.7563).
