Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Sophomores Brianna Richardson and Noelle Poloncarz led The College at Brockport Volleyball team in multiple categories propelling the Golden Eagles to a road nonconference 3-0 win against St. John Fisher.
Brockport (21-1 Overall) utilized its depth as 13 Golden Eagles saw action during the contest in which Brockport won by scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 25-20.
Richardson and Poloncarz both went the entire match without an attacking error combining for six kills. Richardson tied for the team lead in blocks with Jamie Schlesinger with three while Poloncarz continued her excellent 2015 season of setting up the Golden Eagle offense with 24 assists in addition to 10 digs and two aces.
The Golden Eagles never trailed in Tuesday's match and took a commanding lead in the third and final set when Kayla Barber opened the game with a kill and followed it with a service ace. Sam Holdredge gave the Green and Gold a three point advantage before two Cardinal errors built a 5-0 lead.
Fisher fought back with four straight points to trim the Brockport lead to a single point. Middles Ashley Capone and Richardson attacks gained the next two Golden Eagle points.
Brockport traded points back and forth with Fisher and found themselves in a close set late in the game holding a one point lead with a score of 18-17. The Golden Eagles scored seven of the next 10 points to claim the match victory.
Barber led the team with eight kills while Capone added seven. Rachel Fiser tied Poloncarz with two service aces. Kathleen Irwin posted 16 digs during the match against the Cardinals.
