Box Score BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Margo Tremaine scored her first goal of the season as The College at Brockport field hockey team fell to SUNY Geneseo 8-1 Wednesday afternoon in a State University of New York Athletic Conference matchup at Bob Boozer Field at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium.
Geneseo (7-6 overall, 3-1 SUNYAC) scored two goals to a take a quick 2-0 lead over Brockport (1-14, 1-5). In the 22nd minute of play, the Golden Eagles earned penalty corner which was taken by Krista Millington. The junior passed the ball to Tremaine who passed it to Nicole Fazzolari inside the circle. Tremaine sprinted towards the net, receiving a quick pass from Fazzolari and beating the goalie in the lower right corner to make it 2-1.
The Knights took a 3-1 lead to halftime, outshooting the Golden Eagles 12-4. Brockport's defense held Geneseo to eight shots in the second half and allowed five goals.
Brockport tallied 10 shots with Tremaine leading the way with three. Katherine Weyant and Allie McConnell recorded two shots each while Amy Masciale, Kelsey Devine and Kaitlin Croghan each had one shot.
Sarah Beam was in goal for the first half and a portion of the second half. Beam suffered her seventh loss of the season after allowing five goals and making six saves in just over 46 minutes of play. Adriana DeDie took over for the remainder of the game, allowing three goals.
The Golden Eagles have one home game remaining in the regular season as they host Keuka College Friday night at 6 p.m. for a non-conference game.
