Box Score UTICA, N.Y. – The College at Brockport field hockey team suffered a tough non-conference loss on Wednesday to Utica College, 4-0.
The Golden Eagles (1-12) held the Pioneers (4-8) nearly scoreless in the first half until Utica netted a goal with 40 seconds to play.
Sarah Beam picked up 12 saves in the cage in the first half of action.
In the second half, Brockport quickly fell behind 2-0 when the Pioneers worked in a second score under four minutes into the half. Utica would find the back of the cage on two more occasions to pick up the 4-0 win.
Beam picked up 47 minutes of action and 11 saves on the day, while
Paula Amo worked for 22 minutes in goal, stopping seven shots. Two Golden Eagles picked up defensive saves in the outing, with
Katherine Weyant and
Autumn Swavely each saving a goal.
