The College at Brockport Men's Basketball team won five of its last six games in the regular season to move up to the No. 4 spot in the final State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) standings and earned the right to host a first round game in the tournament. The Golden Eagles will host No. 5 seed Buffalo State at 7 pm Tuesday night in the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium in Brockport.
The teams split the regular season series with each team winning on the road and Brockport, who won the 2014 SUNYAC Tournament title, comes in with an overall record of 14-11 while the Bengals enter the post season with a 15-9 mark. Both teams finished at 11-7 in conference play but Brockport earned the higher seed with a win over top seeded Plattsburgh earlier in the year while Buffalo State lost boot meetings with the Cardinals.
Brockport is led in scoring by junior Patrick Modzelewski (Brooklyn, NY/Msgr. McClancy) who averages 13.7 points per game. Sophomore Clifton Lyerly (Inwood, NY/Lawrence) is next with 11.5 points per contest. Sophomore Levi Pace (Medina, NY/Medina) is the team's top rebounder with an average of 5.1 rebounds per game and also has a team best 43 blocked shots.
