Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The College at Brockport Volleyball team traveled to Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) for the RIT Tournament and had a single match Friday evening which resulted in a 3-0 win for the Golden Eagles.
Brockport (11-1) rebounded from its first loss of the season with a convincing sweep by the scores of 25-12, 25-15 and 25-14 victory over Mt. St. Mary.
Ashley Capone continued her strong start to the season with eight kills in 15 attempts finishing the match with a hitting percentage of .333 while also adding two blocks. Senior Hannah Sawicki had the best kill percentage of .571 with four kills in seven attempts with zero errors.
The Golden Eagles dominated the service line, utilizing this advantage to the tune of 14 points on aces. Rachel Fiser and Maddy Taylor each tied for the team lead with three aces apiece. Sam Holdredge, Noelle Poloncarz and Mallory Sullivan each added multiple aces too.
On the defensive end, libero Kathleen Irwin was the only Golden Eagle to surpass double digits in digs with 11 on the night.
Kayla Barber also tied with the Golden Eagle lead in kills with eight while Poloncarz led the team with 13 assists.
