BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport women's gymnastics team posted a dominating win on Saturday, downing Springfield College, 190.975-184.200.
The Golden Eagles keep their perfect record, improving to 7-0 on the season.
The Green and Gold led the way from top to bottom on every event. Head coach
John Feeney's squad got off to a strong start on the vault, posting a team score of 48.000 to Springfield's 47.525.
Jen Sklenar led the way with a 9.675 with
Candis Kowalik and
Stephanie Mager right behind her with a pair of 9.650's.
Bridgette Schaal scored a 9.525, while
Brittany Vasile notched a 9.500.
Casey Sullivan rounded out the top six, with a score of 9.475.
Brockport kept its strong start going, posting a team score of 47.550 on the uneven bars, and bypassing the Prides' 44.500 score.
Miranda Shaine scored a 9.600 to lead all gymnasts in the event, while
Allison Hester wasn't far off with a score of 9.575.
Meghan Cash turned in a 9.525, while
Maddie O'Braitis notched a 9.500.
The Golden Eagles continued to post solid scores, with a team score of 46.750 on the beam, outmatching their opponents 45.600. Sklenar's 9.650 led the way, with
Kendal Hamer not far off with a 9.500.
Kendra Bushart turned in a 9.350, while
Alexis Frakowski scored a 9.300.
On the floor, the Green and Gold shined, turning in their best score of the meet, a 48.675. The soaring Golden Eagles were led by Vasile, who notched a season high 9.800. Sklenar was not far behind, with a score of 9.750 while
Taylor Keough chipped in a 9.725. Cash and Kowalik notched a pair of 9.700's while Mager scored a 9.575 to round out the Brockport scores.
The Golden Eagles will be back in action on Feb. 4 when they remain home to host Ithaca College.
