WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The College at Brockport women's volleyball team secured their third straight State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title this past Saturday, and with it a berth into the 2017 NCAA Women's Volleyball Championships. This year, they'll be traveling to Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio to take on Juniata College.
The Golden Eagles have already eclipsed the 25-win mark for the third straight season, and are sitting at 26-8 on the year. They're currently riding an 11-game winning streak, having dropped just two total sets during that span. They'll look to improve upon last seasons NCAA Tournament run, where they finished in the "Sweet 16", the deepest run in program history.
Juniata is currently ranked No. 22 in the AVCA Coaches Poll, having just won their 11th consecutive Landmark Conference Title. The Eagles defeated Scranton in the Championship game after having fallen to them just a week prior. They sit at 23-8 on the season, with six of the eight losses having come on the road or on a neutral court.
Fans looking to attend the game can make the 376 mile trek from Brockport to Otterbein in just under six hours. The Golden Eagles opening round game will be at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, and if they should advance they'd face the winner of Wittenberg and Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon.
Other teams in the region include Ohio Northern, DePauw, Cabrini, and host Otterbein. You can view the entire 64 team bracket
