BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport men's basketball team's season will continue as they earned an at-large to the 2018 Division III NCAA Tournament. The Golden Eagles will travel to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland to face off against Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on Friday, March 2 at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets will be $10 for adults; $5 for senior citizens, students of the participating institutions (with ID) and children; kids two and under will be admitted free. Doors to Goldfarb Gym will open one hour prior to the start of competition on both days.
Brockport earned an at-large bid out of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) after falling in the semifinals to SUNY Oneonta. It is the first time the Green and Gold have made the tournament since the 2014 season. The Golden Eagles are led by senior
Hamed Shamseldin (20.4 ppg), sophomore
Justin Summers (17.4 ppg) and junior
Tyler Collins (10.2 ppg). Shamseldin also leads the team in assists (5.9) while Summers leads in rebounding (7.7). The Golden Eagles rank ninth in the nation in free throw attempts (701), 11th in free throws made (487) and 15th in blocked shots (5.0).
If Brockport advances, they will face the winner of John Hopkins and La Roche College on Saturday, March 3 at 8 p.m.
