Golden Eagles Seven Saves Not Enough to Hold Off Red Dragons Offense

Box Score ONEONTA, N.Y. -  The College at Brockport field hockey team lost a heartbreaker to SUNY Oneonta on Saturday in a close 2-0 matchup. The Red Dragons solo goals in the first and fourth quarter were enough to get the job done, moving them a game above the Green and Gold in conference seeding.

Despite the Golden Eagles effort to hold off the Red Dragons 21 total shots, forward Morgan Fleming was lights out in front of the goal, netting both of Oneonta's goals.

Meaghan Lurz, Emily Hall, Olivia Hayden and Katelynn Mello worked to kick start the Golden Eagles offense, each recording offensive opportunities. Goalie Cara Fox put up a strong fight in the net, posting seven saves in nine shots faced.

The Golden Eagles move to 9-7 and 2-3 in conference play headed into the final game of the season against conference powerhouse Geneseo.
