SUNAYC Sweep: The Golden Eagles had an absolutely dominant weekend, grabbing their first road sweep of the year. The Green and Gold grinded through a double-header against Oswego and Cortland, coming out victorious in both.

Friday's match against the Lakers went down to the wire, with the Golden Eagles stealing a five-set match in the final moments, 3-2. The team recorded 65 total kills led by Lindsey Luce (16), Meaghan Mastro (13) and Megan Muehlbauer (11). The team's strongest performance came in the third set where they notched 17 kills for a solid .300 hitting percentage.

The Golden Eagles followed that up with an upset win over Cortland on Saturday where they swapped places with the Red Dragons in the SUNYAC standings. The Red Dragons opened up the afternoon with a statement in set one, grabbing a quick 25-17 win but the Green and Gold answered back by taking the next three sets. Each of the final three sets came down to the final five points but the Golden Eagles offense found ways to create holes against the Red Dragons defense, allowing them to produce continuous wins. The 3-1 win over Cortland allowed the Golden Eagles to jump to second in the SUNYAC and secure a bye in the first round of the tournament. Mastro and Luce led the offense once again, Mastro recording 18 kills and Luce recording 10.

Golden Eagles Leaders:

Coyle – 9th in kills per set (2.56)
Mastro – 6th in hitting percentage (.286), fifth in total blocks (74) and blocks per set (0.84), 8th in points per set (3.2) and 10th in total points (284.5)

What To Expect: The Golden Knights are the only opponent the Golden Eagles will see this weekend that they competed against in the 2018 season. The Green and Gold picked up a five-set match against the Golden Knights, sealing the deal in set five with 15-9 win. Both teams notched a similar number of kills, recording 47 and 45 respectively.

The Golden Knights are having a strong 2019 season, currently with a record of 21-4 overall and 6-1 in the Liberty League. The team is averaging 12.6 kills per set, 11.8 assists per set, 2.6 service aces per set, 17.6 digs per set and 1.3 blocks per set.
