Brockport Hosts Hobart for Home Opener

Brockport, N.Y. - The College at Brockport men's basketball team host the Hobart Statesmen for their home opener. Brockport enters the game 0-1 on the season and Hobart enters 1-0. Tip-off is Tuesday November 19th at 5:30pm.

Last Time Out: Last Tuesday the Golden Eagles took a tough loss to Morrisville State, 70-73. Jahidi Wallace led the team with a career-high 19 points, making 11-of-14 from the free throw line. Montgomery Stroman and Danny Ashley each had a strong showing with eight points off the bench. A last second shot with time running out was missed, as Brockport fell in its first game of the season. The team looks to bounce back this week in its home opener against Hobart.

Home Opener: The Golden Eagles have been successful in recent years in their home opening game, as they have won three straight heading into Tuesday's contest. The Green and Gold look to continue to protect the home court, as the team has only lost one home opener since the 2011-12 season. Last year Brockport defeated Medaille, 98-91, in the first home game of the year behind a 31-point explosion from Tyler Collins.

Last Meeting: Last year these two squads played each other in a tightly contested game that ended up going Hobart's way. Brockport lost, 75-79, despite Tyler Collins and Justin Summers combining for 37 points. Throughout the game there were three ties and three lead changes. Brockport hopes to get revenge on the Statesmen this time around at home.

Hobart's Start: Hobart comes into this game with a 1-0 record as it picked up the first win of the season against New York University last Wednesday. The Statesmen had three double-digit scorers in the 80-76 victory. Lescoe Tucker had the team-high with 22 points, while shooting 6-9 from behind the arc. As a team, Hobart shot over 50% from three-point territory.

Looking Ahead: The Golden Eagles will hit the road this coming weekend to face Medaille College in Buffalo, N.Y. This non-conference hoops matchup is schedule to tip-off at 2 pm on Saturday, November 23rd.
