ITHACA, N.Y. – The College at Brockport traveled to Ithaca College Sunday afternoon for the Harriet Marranca Memorial Invite where they went head to head with the Bombers and the Anchormen of Rhode Island College.
The Golden Eagles saw defeat to Ithaca College, posting a 188.000 to the Bombers 190.350 finish but grabbed a win over RIC who trailed at 179.575.
On the vault, senior
Stephanie Mager shined for the Green and Gold, holding the strongest finish of the day with a 9.700 score.
Rachel Doll fell not far behind, working her way to a third-place tie with a score of 9.575.
Jamie Sklenar and
Hayden Davidson rounded out the event, posting sixth and seventh place finishes respectively with a 9.500 and 9.400. The Golden Eagles 47.500 went on to be their strongest event of the day, just outscoring the Bombers 47.425.
Doll continued her momentum on the bars, notching a second-place finish of 9.525, the only top five finish in the event.
Amy Eck,
Courtney Kamberalis, and
Nicole Jackson were the next to place for the Green and Gold, Eck and Kamberalis holding a sixth- place tie at 9.425 and seventh place for Jackson at an even 9.300.
The second-best team score of the day came on the beam, where the Golden Eagles 47.025 was led by
Olivia DeLuca and
Alexis Frankowski. The senior duo posted two top five routines, DeLuca's 9.625 score good enough for a third-place tie and Frankowski's 9.575 securing her the fifth-place spot. Sklener and
Dorothy Wernick finished off the scoring in the event, putting up a pair of 9.400's.
Chanya Earle closed things out for the Golden Eagles on the floor with a second-place finish of 9.575. Skelnar and
Madison O'Malley were the next to place, Sklenar with a score of 9.400 and O'Malley just behind her with a 9.375.
The Golden Eagles are back in action next weekend at Ithaca College again where they will join the Cortland Red Dragons starting at 1 p.m.
