Brockport Hosts Buffalo State Tuesday

Brockport, NY – The College at Brockport men's basketball team starts a three-game homestand on Tuesday, as it welcomes Buffalo State for some conference action. The game will tip-off at 7:30 pm at the Vlogianitis Gymnasium.

Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles picked up a win on the road over Plattsburgh on Saturday, as they bounced back from a loss to Potsdam the day before. Justin Summers led the way with 24 points and nine rebounds, while Tyler Collins added 19 points of his own. Brockport controlled the game from start to finish, securing the 94-72 win over the Cardinals. The team improved to 8-3 overall and 3-1 in the SUNYAC with the victory.

SUNYAC Summers: Averaging 19.2 points per game on 56.8% shooting from the field, Justin Summers is currently ranked second in the SUNYAC in scoring. His field goal percentage is fourth best in the conference, and he also is top ten in rebounding with 7.5 boards a night. Summers is also one of the best rim protectors in the conference, ranking second with 16 blocks on the year (1.5 per game).

TC's Got Range: After making 11 three-point shots in the first nine games of the season, Tyler Collins has now scored seven long-range buckets in just the last two games. Averaging 17.5 points per game in the last two, Collins has shot 7-for-15 from beyond the arc (46.7%). As one of just two players on the team to make at least 10 threes so far this year, his recent hot shooting will help space the floor more for Brockport's offense.

Big Night off the Bench: Senior Monte Stroman had a great two-way performance from his reserve role against Plattsburgh. The guard from Syracuse, NY put up a career-high 18 points on 6-for-12 shooting on offense, while contributing four steals and a block defensively. Stroman had a strong impact on the game, as Brockport took its third SUNYAC win of the season.

Glass Cleaner: Devante Hagins has been great rebounding the ball since being inserted into the starting lineup, averaging 9.3 boards in three games as a starter. He snagged eight rebounds in wins over Alfred and Plattsburgh and posted a season-high 12 boards against Potsdam. His length has caused opposing teams trouble, as he has made 13 steals in the just the last four games for Brockport.

Conference Picture: The Green and Gold are currently tied with three other teams in the SUNYAC with a 3-1 record in league play. Brockport, Cortland, Oswego, and Potsdam are all tied in the conference standings following the weekend. Oneonta is sitting in the top spot in the standings at an undefeated 3-0 mark in the conference.

Scouting Buff. State: The Bengals are 3-4 overall and 1-2 in the SUNYAC after back-to-back losses against Cortland and Oswego over this past weekend. Oswego defeated Buffalo State, 86-66, after Cortland took the team down 107-80 the day before. Buffalo State has yet to win a road game ahead of Tuesday's contest. Sheldon Adams leads the team, averaging 17.1 points per game, and is shooting just under 90% from the foul line this season.

Busy Weekend Ahead: The Golden Eagles continue their short stretch of home games this weekend with Friday and Saturday matchups on the home court. Friday they welcome Oneonta for a 7:30 pm tip-off before hosting New Paltz at 4 pm on Saturday.
