DIII's Finest: The Golden Eagles hot start to the 2020 season not only puts them in a good spot amongst their regional competitors but grabbed them some national attention as well. The Green and Gold were recognized earlier this week as the nationally-ranked No. 1 team in Division III gymnastics, averaging 187.175 points and nailing a season high 189.500 at home last weekend. The team is followed closely by UW-Whitewater who is averaging 185.225 points.
Sophomore Stand out: Sophomore
Lexi Castellaneta has played an integral role is helping the Golden Eagles to a 4-0 start and her efforts haven't gone unnoticed. Castellaneta was named the NCGA Specialist Gymnast of the Week following her performance at the Green and Gold's home tri-meet over the weekend.
The sophomore helped lead the Green and Gold to their fourth win of the season with a sweep of Ithaca and Springfield on Saturday. The Watkins Glen, NY native posted three top five finishes in three of the four events, including fourth in the vault with a score of 9.475 and then first in the beam with a 9.700 and first on the floor with a personal best score of 9.775. She currently ranks third nationally in the floor, tenth nationally in the vault and 23rd nationally in the balance beam.

Nikki Jackson and Castellaneta on the vault,
Amy Eck on the bars, Castellaneta,
Jensen Todd and
Shelby Schumaker on the beam and Castellaneta,
Courtney Kamberalis,
Kim Musall and
Kyra Figurelli on the floor. Castellaneta and Eck each recorded personal best scores as well.
