NEW HAVEN, CT. – The College at Brockport women's gymnastics team finished third overall at the Southern Connecticut State University home opener Sunday afternoon. The Golden Eagles competed against three other teams including Southern Connecticut, Cornell, and Springfield.

1st Place: Cornell (189.650)
2nd Place: Southern Connecticut State (187.025)
3rd Place: Brockport (186.450)
4th Place: Springfield (185.800)
Highlights:
Vault –
Jamie Sklenar was the front runner on the vault for the Golden Eagles, posting a three-way second place tie with a score of 9.725. Nicole Jackson and
Lexi Castellaneta were the next top finishers with Jackson in fifth with a score of 9.675 and Castellaneta in a two-way tie for sixth with a score of 9.625. The Green and Gold capped off the event with their strongest team finish of the day with an overall score of 48.100.
Bars – The Golden Eagles had two gymnasts finish in the top five on the bars, including a second-place tie by
Amy Eck and a fourth-place tie by
Gabbi Gare. Eck nailed a 9.600 even followed by Gare's 9.450 score. The team's efforts in the event totaled out to a 44.300 final score.
Beam – Some of the highest scores of the day by any team came on the balance beam. The Golden Eagles 46.550 total was led by Castellaneta who posted a seventh-place score of 9.625.
Shelby Schumaker had the next highest finish with a score of 9.550.
Floor – The Golden Eagles second-best team performance of the day came on the floor where they recorded three top 10 finishes for a 47.500 total.
Kyra Figurelli and Castellaneta nailed a pair of 9.625's for a fifth-place tie followed by Sklenar in ninth with a score of 9.525.
Gina Ferdinandi rounded out the scoring with a 9.425.
Up Next: The Golden Eagles next road trip will be to Ithaca College next Saturday for a dual meet with the Bombers at 1 p.m.
