BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The College at Brockport women's gymnastics team picked up their first win of the season Tuesday afternoon against SUNY Cortland. The Golden Eagles led the Red Dragons in each of the four categories (Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, Floor), ultimately securing them a win.

Highlights:
Vault – The Golden Eagles opened up the afternoon on the vault, taking an early three-point lead over the Red Dragons who were simultaneously competing on the uneven bars.
Nikki Jackson led the way for the Green and Gold on the vault, nailing a 9.525 finish.
Lexi Castellaneta and
Dorothy Wernick provided the strength behind her, closing out at 9.375 and 9.350 respectively. The three gymnasts led the Golden Eagles to a strong 46.825 score to start.
Uneven Bars – Three of the Green and Gold's seasoned vets including
Rachel Doll,
Amy Eck and
Kim Musall showed their strength on the uneven bars in the second event of the afternoon, finishing in the top three respectively. Doll hit a personal best 9.475 to lead the Golden Eagles to a 45.325 on the bars, followed by Eck at 9.275 and Musall at a personal best 9.150.
Balance Beam – Brockport's weakest outing of the day came on the balance beam where the team recorded a 45.225 total. The Red Dragons were able to move within one point (137.375-136.375) of the lead.
Shelby Schumaker topped the leader board for the Golden Eagles on the beam, posting a 9.375 finish.
Jensen Todd finished in a close second, landing a personal best 9.225.
Jamie Sklenar closed out the top three for the Golden Eagles on the beam, finishing with a score of 9.025.
Floor Exercise – The Golden Eagles put up their strongest performance of the day on the floor to finalize their first win of the year, 185.225-180.475.
Chanya Earle notched the highest score of the day through all four events, securing a 9.625 with her strong routine.
Kyra Figurelli, Musall and Castellaneta each then put up an even 9.600 to give the Golden Eagles the lead they needed.
Gina Ferdinandi closed out the event with a 9.425 finish.
