ITHACA, NY –The nationally-ranked No. 1 SUNY Brockport gymnastics team defeated host and nationally-ranked No. 10 Ithaca College 187.975-185.700 in NCGA action on Saturday afternoon. Brockport outscored Ithaca on the bars (47.050-46.450), beam (46.750-45.300), and floor (47.300-46.950) as the Golden Eagles topped the Bombers for the second time this season.
Brockport placed four of the top five finishers on the balance beam.
Jensen Todd was the top finisher in the event with a score of 9.625, while
Jamie Sklenar added a second place finish with a score of 9.450.
Emmie White placed fourth on the beam with a score of 9.325 and
Lexi Castellaneta tied for fifth with a score of 9.200. Todd is currently tied for 14
th nationally on the balance beam with a season average of 9.381.
Freshman
Kyra Figurelli was the top finisher in the floor exercise with a career-best score of 9.700. Castellaneta posted a score of 9.675 on the floor exercise to place second overall in the event. Castellaneta now ranks fourth nationally in the floor exercise with a season average of 9.644.
Brockport's
Jamie Sklenar placed second in the vault with a score of 9.575, while
Amy Eck added a fifth place vault finish with a score of 9.350.

Eck also added second place finish in the uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.500, while Gabi Gare placed third (9.475). Eck now ranks fifth nationally in the UB with a season average of 9.444.
Brockport returns to action on Sunday, February 9
th when the Golden Eagles travel to Yale University. The competition is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. in New Haven, CT.
