Ithaca, NY – The #1 SUNY Brockport women's gymnastics team just came up shy of first place down at the Harriet Marranca Invitational, hosted by Ithaca College. Brockport placed second with a score of 186.550, just .175 behind Ithaca.
The Green and Gold put up the highest team scores in the vault and the bars at the meet. The team registered a score of 48.175 in the vault and a mark of 47.575 in the uneven bars.
Nikki Jackson put up an average score of 9.825 in the vault, the highest individual score for the event among all competitors.
Jamie Sklenar posted a score of 9.725 in the event.
In the uneven bars event
Amy Eck put up a team-best score of 9.725, which was second best at the meet. Teammate
Rachel Swick's average score of 9.625 was good for second on the squad.
Brockport's score of 47.025 in the floor exercise was second best at the meet, highlighted by
Emmie White's team-best mark of 9.675.
Jensen Todd's score of 9.350 was the highest on the team in the balance beam event.
The Golden Eagles are on the road again next weekend for a dual meet against Kent State University. The meet is set for a 7 pm start that Friday out in Ohio.
