KENT, OH – The nationally-ranked SUNY Brockport women's gymnastics team placed fourth at the Division I Kent State Quad Meet on Friday night. Brockport scored 187.725 points and finished just behind Ursinus College and NCAA Division I programs Bowling Green and Kent State.
Brockport's combined event scores included a 47.375 on the vault, 47.150 on the bars, 46.150 on the beam and a 47.050 in the floor exercise.
Nikki Jackson and
Jamie Sklenar were the top finishers for Brockport in the vault as they each posted a score of 9.675.
Amy Eck was the top finisher for the Golden Eagles in the bars with a score of 9.650 and
Shelby Schumaker was the top finisher for Brockport on the beam with a score of 9.450.
Courtney Kamberalis was the high score for Brockport in the floor exercise with a 9.600.
Jackson also posted a score of 9.300 on the bars, while
Gabbi Gare totaled scores of 9.500 (bars) and 9.275 (vault).
Emmie White and
Gina Ferdinandi each tied for 14
th overall in the bars with a score of 9.525.
After this weekend, the Golden Eagles will head to SUNY Cortland on March 8th for their final regular season meet of the season, before the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association East Regional meet held on March 15th at Springfield College.
