CORTLAND, NY -- The nationally-ranked SUNY Brockport women's gymnastics team earned a 190.200-188.650 victory over host SUNY Cortland in NCGA East action on Sunday afternoon. Brockport picked up its 11th win of the season and earned its third dual win over Cortland of the year.
Brockport eclipsed 190 team points for the first time this season following team scores of 47.675 (vault), 47.225 (bars), 47.275 (beam) and 48.025 (floor).
The Golden Eagles return to action on the road Sunday when they travel to Springfield College to participate in the NCGA East Regional Championships at 1 p.m.
Nikki Jackson had another outstanding day for Brockport as she placed first in the vault (9.725) and third in the bars (9.550) for the Golden Eagles.
Courtney Kamberalis added a fifth place finish in the bars (9.350) and a fifth place finish in the floor exercise (9.775).
Nikky Aiello also added a fourth place finish in the bars (9.500) and a fifth place finish in the vault (9.500).
Vault
Brockport placed four athletes in the top six finishers of the vault. Jackson won the vault with a score of 9.725, while
Jamie Sklenar placed second with a score of 9.550.
Dorothy Wernick tied for fifth in the vault with teammate
Nikky Aiello as they both posted a score of 9.500.
Uneven Parallel Bars
Four of the top five finishers came from visiting Brockport in the uneven parallel bars.
Amy Eck was the top finisher in the event for the Golden Eagles as she placed second with a score of 9.700.
Nikki Jackson placed third with a score of 9.550 and
Nikky Aiello added a fourth place finish with a score of 9.500.
Courtney Kamberalis placed fifth in the bars with a score of 9.350.
Balance Beam
Brockport placed four of the top seven finishers on the beam.
Jensen Todd placed second on the beam with a score of 9.650, while
Shelby Schumaker placed third with a score of 9.600.
Emmie White placed fifth in the event with a score of 9.450 and
Dorothy Wernick placed seventh with a score of 9.375.
Floor Exercise
The Golden Eagles had three of the top five finishers in the floor exercise.
Kyra Figurelli and
Alyssa Klock tied for second in the floor routine with a score of 9.850, while
Courtney Kamberalis placed fifth with a score of 9.775.
