Alayna Fredenburg placed 17
th in the women's hammer throw with a toss of 48.12m at the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Irwin Belk Track hosted by North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC Saturday.
She fouled on her first attempt, posted her best toss of the day on her second attempt (48.12m), and finished with a throw of 47.21m in her final attempt of the day.
Fredenburg was making her first career appearance at nationals after qualifying as the 17th ranked thrower in the hammer with a career-best toss of 52.46m back on May 1st. She is a three-time SUNYAC Champion in the hammer, javelin and weight throw. Recently at the AARTFC Championships she placed third in the javelin throw (38.67m) and sixth in the hammer (46.55m). She won both the hammer and javelin at this year's outdoor SUNYAC Championships. She posted eight first place finishes this outdoor season, six in the javelin and two in the hammer.
