The SUNY Brockport track & field teams both placed second at the SUNYAC Championships hosted by SUNY Cortland on Friday and Saturday. The men's team picked up 197.5 points and were narrowly edged by conference champion Geneseo in the team competition. Brockport's women also placed second behind Geneseo with a team score of 159.
The Brockport throwers took home the top three spots in the discus. Freshman
Emma Kinnicutt won the SUNYAC discus title with a throw of 37.63m, while
Sarah Crockett placed second with a toss of 37.00m.
Olivia George placed third with a throw of 36.51. Crockett also added a first place finish in the women's shot put as she took home the title with a throw of 13.08m.
Madison Baker placed second in the women's heptathlon as she totaled a personal best score of 3314. Kathryn Adams placed fourth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:42.16.
Lisa Pink placed second in the women's 1500m race with a personal-best time of 4:47.60.
Sarah Levine placed third in the 100m dash with a time of 12.81 and
Brianna Lawless placed fourth with a time of 12.89. Lawless also added a third place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 26.58.
Brockport's 4x100m relay team of
Sarah Levine,
Rhea Winter,
Sabrina Donoghue and
Brianna Lawless placed second with a season-best time of 50.23. Winter added a fifth place finish in the 400m race as she posted a time of 1:03.11.
The 4x400m relay team of
Lucia Sibley,
Rhea Winter,
Brianna Lawless and
Jennifer Metz record a season-best time of 4:09.58 to take home third place.
Lucia Sibley placed second in the women's 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 1:05.25. Her time currently ranks 26
th on the national outdoor qualifying list.
Chanyce Powell placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 11.29m to earn eight team points for the Golden Eagles.
Alayna Fredenburg placed fifth in the discus (10.96m) and Kinnicutt placed sixth (10.77m) in the same event.
Brockport returns to the track on Friday when it travels to Roberts Wesleyan for the Red Hawks Capstone Meet at 4 p.m. The All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Championships are set for May 19-20 at St. John Fisher College.
