Brockport, NY – Following the field hockey teams 10-0 shutout win over Sage on Saturday, The Golden Eagles will take on the Ithaca Bombers on Wednesday, September 25th at 5 p.m. to finish off its three game road trip.
In the teams previous contest, the Golden Eagles managed to win by their largest margin this year shutting out Russel Sage 10-0. Seven different women were able to put the ball in the back of the cage with three different Golden Eagles recording their first goals of their collegiate careers. In total, Bport managed to record 42 shots against the Gators while Sage was only able to fire off one shot the whole game. Making the save on that one shot was
Emma Acevedo who was in goal again for her third career game and was able to record her first win and shutout in goal for the Golden Eagles. Following its victory Brockport improved its record to 4-2 overall this season.
It its last time out for Ithaca, it saw the 4-2 Bombers pick up a 1-0 victory over SUNY Geneseo. Avery Moses scored the lone goal for in the game with an assist from Natalie Descalso. Macy Brandwein was the goalie for Ithaca as she picked up her first shutout of the year. Leading Ithaca's offense this year is Morgan Mullen and Jacqueline Mirabile who both have recorded three goals apiece. In goal all year, Brandwein has started all six games while making 17 saves and recording a .88 goals against average.
This will be the eighth time in 10 years that the non-conference opponents will matchup against one another. Following Wednesday game, the Green and Gold will return home on Saturday, September 25th to open SUNYAC conference play against SUNY New Paltz at 11 a.m.
