The nationally ranked No. 1 SUNY Brockport gymnastics team returns to the gym on Sunday when the Golden Eagles travel to Ithaca College for the Harriett Marranca Memorial Invitational hosted by the Bombers at 3 p.m. Brockport will square off against Ithaca and Cortland in a tri-meet format.

So Far This Season: Brockport currently holds an 8-0 record through five meets this season. The Golden Eagles swept Ithaca and Cortland at home to open the season before defeating Rhode Island College and Ithaca in consecutive dual meets on the road. Brockport then topped RIC at home on senior night and followed with a sweep of Cornell, Ithaca and Cortland at the Cornell Quad Meet last Sunday. The last time the Golden Eagles started the season with eight straight dual wins was back in 2017.
Specialist of the Week: Senior
Lexi Castellaneta was named the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Specialist of the Week for the third time this season in a release by the association office on Monday afternoon. Castellaneta posted a 9.900 on the floor, becoming the first NCGA gymnast to do so this year as she tied for first at the Cornell Quad meet on Sunday. She also tied the school-record with a 9.800 on the beam, helping Brockport set a new school-record in the event (48.600), as the Golden Eagles swept Cornell, Ithaca and Cortland on Sunday. Brockport posted a season-high team score of 192.425.
The Nation's Best: Brockport remains atop the NCGA Division III Rankings with a team season average All Around score of 191.3313 following Sunday's quad meet victory at Cornell. Brockport is the top team in the nation in all four events, floor exercise (48.2000), balance beam (47.8563), uneven bars (47.7750) and vault (47.9688).
In the National Spotlight: All-American hopeful
Lexi Castellaneta is the No. 1 gymnast nationally on the vault, beam, and floor.
Lexi Castellaneta (9.7375) and
Sydney Schumaker (9.6938) are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 nationally on the vault.
Emma Grace Sargent (9.6250) ranks eighth nationally on the vault.
Gabbi Gare ranks second nationally on the uneven bars (9.7063) and she has posted a 9.775 in three straight meets.
Taylor Bushey ranks third nationally with a 9.6813, while Sargent ranks sixth nationally (9.5875). Schumaker rounds out the top ten nationally on the bars (9.5625). Castellaneta ranks No. 1 nationally on the balance beam (9.7125) and
Natalie Galioto ranks third nationally (9.6625). Schumaker ranks 14th nationally on the beam (9.4813). Castellaneta ranks No. 1 on the floor (9.8000) and she recently became the first gymnast in Div. III this season to post a floor score of 9.900 on Sunday at Cornell.
Kirsten Paultre ranks sixth nationally on the floor (9.6875) and
Naimah Muhammad ranks eighth nationally (9.6438).

Brockport has defeated Division I Cornell in two consecutive seasons and the defending NCGA champs have beaten Ithaca three times this season. The Golden Eagles placed first as a team on both the bars (48.200) and the beam (48.600) to earn their eighth straight victory.
Looking Ahead: Brockport will hit the road on Sunday February 27
th to take on Ithaca and Cortland at the Cortland Tri-Meet. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. The NCGA Regionals at Springfield College will be held on March 12
th.
