The SUNY Brockport indoor track & field teams travel to Nazareth College on Friday & Saturday to participate in the 2022 All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Championships at the Golisano Training Center. Brockport has secured 47 individual qualifications for the regional meet. Several Golden Eagles have hopes of securing a top 20 ranking nationally and a berth into the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships next weekend at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

SUNYAC Recap: The Brockport women placed second in the team competition after scoring 156 points last weekend as the Golden Eagles hosted the 2022 SUNYAC Indoor Championships. Thrower
Sarah Crockett earned the Most Outstanding Performance of the Meet and was named the Most Valuable Performer after her sweep of the shot and the weight. Brockport won six individual titles at SUNYAC's, including Art Jordan (shot put), Olivier Kother (60m), Josh Jeziorski (long jump), Matt Faulise (weight throw) and
Sarah Crockett (shot and weight).
Last AARTFC Indoor Championships: The last time Brockport competed at the AARTFC Indoor Track & Field Championships was back in 2020 at Nazareth prior to the pandemic. The women placed third with 66.5 total team points, while the men placed fourth with 41 points.
Sarah Crockett won the shot at regionals in 2020 with a throw of 13.70m.
Weight Throw: Brockport had three men's and four women's throwers qualify for regionals in the weight throw. NCAA qualifier
Alayna Fredenburg heads in as the second ranked thrower after posting a toss of 16.70m at the Nazareth Conference Tune-Up in mid-February. Fredenburg also ranks 18
th nationally in the event and looks to improve upon her distance in order to truly secure her spot at nationals.
Sarah Crockett ranks sixth in the region with a throw of 16.07m.
Emma Kinnicutt and
Ellie Ramirez round out the four women qualifiers for the Brockport women. On the men's side, Matt Faulise leads the Brockport weight throwers into regionals. He is currently ranked ninth (16.68m) following his SUNYAC crown in the event last weekend. Elijah Washington (16.37m) and Connor Ferris (16.22m) rank 14
th and 15
th in the region, respectively.
Shot Put: Nine Brockport throwers qualified for regionals in the shot put. On the women's side, Crockett leads the way for Brockport as the second ranked thrower in the region and the eighth ranked thrower in the country after her career-best throw of 14.00m that won a SUNYAC crown last weekend.
Maleenah Ortiz ranks 11
th in the region in the shot (12.20m), while
Ellie Ramirez (11.89m) and
Emma Kinnicutt (11.54m) rank 18
th and 31
st, respectively. Art Jordan leads the way for the men's shot-put squad. He currently ranks second in the region and fifth nationally following his personal best throw of 16.61m at the RIT February Invitational earlier this year. Alex Rood (15.77m) ranks fourth in the region and 13
th nationally, while Elijah Washington (14.98m), John Demy (14.78m) and Matt Faulise (14.50m) also qualified in the event.
Jumps: All-American
Chanyce Powell is the odds-on favorite to win the triple jump as she heads into regionals with the top mark in the region (11.66m). She also ranks 18
th nationally in the event.
Mia Montgomery ranks 12
th ranks in the region in the triple (11.11m).
Halle King and Powell enter regionals as Brockport's top two options in the long jump. King ranks 10
th in the region (5.40m) and Powell ranks 16
th (5.36m). On the men's side, SUNYAC Champ Josh Jeziorski ranks fifth in the region and 19
th nationally following his big jump (7.10m) at RIT in February. Don Putaski also qualified for regionals with a leap of 6.73m.
Sprints: Olivier Kother and
Sarah Levine will lead the way for the Brockport sprints group. Kother won the SUNAYC's last weekend and currently ranks fifth in the region with a time of 6.89 in the 60m. He also ranks seventh in the 200m with a time of 22.25. Kothor hopes to crack the top 20 nationally and currently sits in 29
th nationally in the 60m and 34
th in the 200m. Levine has also qualified in both the 60m and the 200m. She ranks ninth in the region and in the top 50 nationally in the 60m with a time of 7.86. She ranks 13
th in the 200m with a time of 26.09. Devin Kipp also qualified in the 60m, while
Marissa Wise qualified in the 200m.
High Jump: Michaela Levesque is the top high jumper in the region after clearing 1.68m at the Brockport Multi in early February.
Halle King ranks eighth in the region (1.62m) and
Sarah Killip ranks 18
th.
Relays: Brockport's men's DMR relay of Thomas Kressly, Frank Derdzinski, Nick Markle and Jonathan Zavala ranks ninth in the region with a time of 10:22.84 and the women's 4x400m relay team of
Lucia Sibley,
Kaylee Haynes,
Rhea Winter and
Sarah Levine are ranked sixth in the region (4:03.40) following their second-place performance at SUNYAC's last weekend.
Distance: Jonathan Zavala is Brockport's top regional qualifier in the men's mile (13
th – 4:16.18) and the 800 meter (6
th – 1:54.60). Paul Suflita leads the way for three Brockport qualifiers in the men's 5K after his time of 15:17.05 at SUNYAC's. Ethan Carey and Jared Smith also qualified for regionals in the 5k. Smith is Brockport's top qualifier in the 3k (8:44.58). Cross country NCAA qualifier
Kerry Flowers qualified for the 5k and the 3k at regionals with times of 18:33.80 and 10:28.65, respectively.
Jennifer Metz qualified in the 800m with a time of 2:21.08, as did
Kaylee Haynes.
Hurdles: Kelsie Naldrett is Brockport's lone qualifier in the 60m hurdles, and she enters regionals ranked 16
th with a time of 9.32.
Pole Vault: Freshman
Mya Henry is the lone pole vault regional qualifier for Brockport after her clearance of 3.20m at RIT this season. She heads into regionals ranked 22
nd.
Heptathlon: Carson Swierski heads to regionals as the 19
th ranked athlete in the region after posting a score of 3924 at the SUNYAC Championships last weekend in Brockport.
