Field Hockey to Host Utica University in Wednesday Evening Matchup

BROCKPORT, NY – The SUNY Brockport field hockey team is set to take on Utica University this week on Wednesday, September 14th at 4:00 pm on the Dr. Linda Arena and Class of '69 Field. Their next game will take place on Tuesday, September 20th, against Ithaca College and will be the team's 2nd Ovarian Cancer Awareness Game in which the team will wear special warmup shirts and sell Ovarian Cancer Awareness shirts.
 
Team Stats: The Golden Eagles are off to a 3-1 start to begin the season with wins over Keuka, Elmira, and Nazareth. Brockport has outscored its opponents 21-5 over the span of four games averaging 5.25 goals per game. outshooting its opponents 110-34 for 27.5 shots per game average, Brockport will look to get back in the win column against the Utica Pioneers.
 
Last Week Recap: Last week Brockport went 1-1 after a come-from-behind 2-1 win against Nazareth before falling 3-1 against Rensselaer Polytech Institute (RPI)
 
The Offense: Tiffany Andres leads Brockport's offense with nine points in three goals and three assists. Tied for the most goals on the team with Andres are freshman Kalena Eaton and senior Bailey Lazore, who both have three goals and one assist. Katelynn Mello is tied for the most assists with three assists and two goals for seven points.
 
Golden Eagles Goalkeeper: Ella Buchanan has averaged a .750 save percentage after spending 220:46 minutes in the cage for Brockport. She has a current record of 3-1 while facing 27 total shots while only averaging 1.36 goals against.
 
Looking at Utica: The Pioneers are 1-1 to begin the season after losing its opening contest at Oneonta by a score of 1-0 before shutting out Morrisville 4-0. Freshman Alanna Fragapane leads Utica's offense with four points from scoring two goals. Shanna Jedreicich and Mackenzie Mix are tied with three points for Utica with three points off one goal and one assist while Alyssa Pisano has tallied one assist this season. Lyla Cushman has spent all 120:00-minutes in goal for Utica where she's managed five saves and just one goal against while facing a total of six shots. With the team's 4-0 victory over Morrisville, she also recorded her first shutout of the season
 
Ovarian Cancer Awareness: Follow Utica, Brockport will face Ithaca College on Tuesday, September 20th, and will be the team's 2nd Ovarian Cancer Awareness Game in which the team will wear special warmup shirts and sell Ovarian Cancer Awareness shirts.
