BROCKPORT, NY – The SUNY Brockport field hockey team is set to travel to cross-city opponent, Nazareth College on Wednesday, September 7
th at 7 pm before hosting Rensselaer Polytech Institute (RPI) on Saturday, September 10
th at 4:30 pm.
Last Week's Recap: The Green and Gold managed to outscore its two opponents for a combined 18-0. Against Keuka in the season opener at home, Brockport shut out the Wolves 11-0 before traveling to the grass playing field of Elmira where they shut out its opponent 8-0.
New High Scorer: Sophomore
Tiffany Andres has already doubled her freshman stats from last year when she scored one goal and two assists. Against Keuka alone, Andres recorded two goals and two assists for six points. She'd continue her dominance against Elmira when she scored one goal and one assist for three points bringing her season stats to three goals and three assists for a team-leading nine points.
Keeper of Goals: Ella Buchanan has started in both games for the Green and Gold in the cage. she's made a total of four saves all against Keuka and didn't need to make a save in the team's 8-0 win against Elmira. With two combined shutouts, Buchanan has been assisted by freshman
Katelynn Banning who's spent 19:14-minutes in the cage as the two combined for both shutouts.
Looking at Nazareth: The Golden Flyers are 0-3 to start the season having been outscored by its three opponents 14-1. Avery Tanton has the only goal for Naz so far this season with Bella Rehermann recording the assist on the team's only goal. Madilyn Satter has been the Golden Flyers' primary keeper starting 119:49-minutes in goal allowing eight goals and recording 16 saves in that time frame.
Looking at RPI: The Engineers are 1-1 to start the season and will travel to Hamilton College on Tuesday, September 6
th before taking on the Golden Eagles Saturday evening in Brockport, NY. So far, RPI has been outscored 3-1 defeating Hartwick College 1-0, before losing to Geneseo 3-0 this past weekend. Julie Thomas has the Engineers only goal this season while Lauren McCarthy's recorded the teams only assist. Jan Richardson is RPI's primary goalkeeper playing a total of 120:00-minutes in the cage while allowing three goals this season.
