Rotation Order: Here are the official rotations for all three teams this weekend.
Brockport – Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor
Ithaca – Bars, Beam, Floor, Vault
Springfield – Beam, Floor, Vault, Bars
Vault: The Golden Eagles have been flying high on vault to start the season. Led by senior
Kyra Figurelli (second in nation with a 9.738 average) and junior
Maren Eramo (eighth in nation with a 9.637 average), Brockport has posted scores above 48.000 in both their meets to start their season and rank first in the NCGA on the event.
Uneven Bars: The uneven bars truly are the great equalizer of the sport. For Brockport, they are right on the edge of breaking through for something special. After a tough first week in Ithaca, the Golden Eagles improved by more than a point during their second meet of the year, helped by junior
Emma Grace Sargent posting a 9.750. Senior
Gabbi Gare (9.388 average) and junior
Taylor Bushey (9.275 average) both posted significant improvements from the first to second meet, and the Golden Eagles will hope to maintain this growth as they return home.
Beam: The season may not be starting quite as the Golden Eagles hoped, however with a roster that boasts all 10.0 start values and significant depth, it's simply a matter of time before the pieces fall into place. Juniors
Sydney Schumaker (tenth in the nation with a 9.525 average) and
Natalie Galioto (9.400 average) are just a part of the experience that leads this team. In addition, freshman
Cali Czarcinski is expected to make her collegiate debut in this weekend's home opener.
Floor: While some things change, others stay the same. Brockport having a dominant floor is one of those things that stays the same. The Golden Eagles are led by seniors
Kyra Figurelli (fifth in nation, 9.675 average) and
Rachel Swick (eleventh in nation, 9.625 average). Juniors
Natalie Galioto (fourth in nation, 9.688 average) and
Kirsten Paultre (tenth in nation, 9.637 average) have also been a vital piece of the team ranking second in the nation on the event.
About Ithaca: Ranked fourth in the NCGA and second in the east region, the Bombers will face Brockport for the third time in three weeks this season. Ithaca posted a 187.300 last week during the Ursinus tri-meet, and set a program record for a season opener two weeks ago scoring a 187.425. The Bombers are the top ranked team on beam, led by senior Cameryn Nichols (first in nation, 9.788 average) along with freshman Emily Kobusky (T- seventh in nation, 9.550 average) and sophomore Caitlin Pellegrino (T- seventh in nation, 9.550 average). Sophomore Kaylie Goodwin ranks tenth in the nation for the all-around competition.
About Springfield: The Pride currently rank fifth in the NCGA and third in the east region, with team scores of 186.875 to open the year, and 187.125 last week against Southern Connecticut and Rhode Island College. Springfield is a true team effort, ranking fourth as a team on both the bars and floor, while senior Tori Sipes (second on bars, 9.700 average) and grad student Winter Osborne (T- seventh on bars, 9.563 average) are the only two top ten individuals for the Pride.
Up Next: Brockport visits the Cortland Red Dragons next weekend for a tri-meet that includes Rhode Island College. That meet will start at 12 PM.
