Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport volleyball team is at home this weekend for a pair of SUNYAC matches at The Vlog. The Golden Eagles will host Fredonia at 6pm on Friday before taking on Buffalo State at 1pm on Saturday.
Senior Night: Friday night's match will be Senior Night for the Green and Gold. Prior to the start of play a short ceremony will be held to honor and recognize the team's senior class. This year Brockport will celebrate the following group of seniors:
Kaia Hubbard,
Ashley Allen,
Brooklyn Sullivan, and
Megan Loomis.
Last Time Out: Last weekend the squad split a pair of conference matches on the road. Brockport lost a 5-set battle to the New Paltz Hawks, 3-2, for the first SUNYAC loss of the season. The next day the Golden Eagles swept Oneonta, 3-0, to get back in the win column. They are now 7-9 overall and own a 3-1 record against SUNYAC opponents.
SUNYAC Standings: Heading into this weekend's set of contests, both New Paltz and Cortland have yet to lose within the SUNYAC. On the flip side, Oneonta and Potsdam are both still looking for their first conference wins. Here is the full listing of the SUNYAC standings going into Friday night:

Going Back-to-Back: On Tuesday, the SUNYAC announced that
Jordan Thompson was named the Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row. In a close, 3-2, loss to New Paltz she totaled 19 kills and four aces. She added a pair of block assists for a match-high 24 points. The next day she improved upon that performance in a 3-0 sweep over Oneonta. Thompson racked up a season-high 23 kills to go with three aces and 26.5 total points.
Straight Killer: Thompson is not only leading Brockport in kills, but is also the SUNYAC leader in kills going into the weekend. She is one of just five players in the conference with over 200 kills, leading all with 222 for an average of 3.70 kills per set.
Setting the Scene: Kaitlyn Jewett and
Ashley Allen have setup their teammates on the attack all season. As a freshman, Jewett leads Brockport with 320 assists to rank fourth in the conference. Allen has totaled 215 assists, squeezing into the Top-10 within the SUNYAC at ninth.
Digging for Gold: Four different players for the Green and Gold have broke the century mark on the year for digs.
Elsie Logan is at the top of the list with 218 digs, which ranks sixth in the SUNYAC.
Jordan Thompson (152),
Gianna Felipe (134), and
Brooklyn Sullivan (129) have all contributed greatly on defense as well.
Block Party: Jayda Pyle leads the squad in blocks from her spot in the middle. The sophomore has 25 total blocks on the season.
Jordan Thompson is close behind with 23 total blocks.
Kaia Hubbard has 17 blocks, but leads the group with four solo blocks.
Up Next: After the weekend at home, Brockport is back on the road for its next match. The Golden Eagles will head to Geneseo on Wednesday, October 18
th for a 6pm clash with the Knights.
