Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport volleyball team is on the road all week for a slate filled with four matches. It starts on Wednesday at 6pm against Geneseo in SUNYAC play, before the squad heads to the North Country Challenge at St. Lawrence and Clarkson.
 
Just Keep Sweeping: The Golden Eagles have improved to 9-9 overall on the season and 5-1 in SUNYAC play after earning three sweeps in a row against conference foes. This run started with a 3-0 win over Oneonta on the road on October 7^th. Brockport continued with its momentum at home this past weekend, getting 3-0 wins against both Fredonia and Buffalo State. The squad remains unbeaten at home, going 5-0 at The Vlog so far this year.
 
Weekly Awards Sweep: On Monday, the SUNYAC announced that Brockport's Jordan Thompson and Brooklyn Sullivan were selected as the Volleyball Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week. Thompson snags this honor for the third week in a row after totaling 27 kills, a 4.50 kills per set average, and a .333 hitting percentage for the week. Sullivan led Brockport in digs in back-to-back sweeps over conference opponents last week. She tied her career-high of 23 digs against Buffalo State on the way to 42 total for the week.
 
SUNYAC Picture: The Golden Eagles have just three remaining matches against conference opponents left in the regular season. The SUNYAC Tournament is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, November 7^th. Here is the full list of the current conference standings heading into this week's action:

SUNYAC's Top Hitter: Jordan Thompson continues to lead the conference in multiple offensive categories this season. So far on the year she has totaled 286.5 points (4.3 pts/s), 249 kills (3.77 k/s), 704 total attempts, 25 aces, along with 174 digs and 25 total blocks defensively. In the SUNYAC Thompson ranks first in points, kills, attempts, 10^th in aces, as well as Top 25 in digs and blocks.
 
Getting it Done: Freshman Kaitlyn Jewett is having a big year from the setter spot, currently ranked fourth in the SUNYAC with 383 assists and second with an average of 7.37 assists per set. Elsie Logan is seventh in the conference with 225 digs and a 3.57 digs per set mark. As a team Brockport is third in the conference in kills per set (11.98), second in assists per set (11.12), first in service aces per set (2.36), second in digs per set (15.63), and second in points per set (15.3).
 
Facing the Knights: Although Geneseo has won four of the last five meetings, the Green and Gold took the victory over the Knights last season, 3-1. Both teams enter Wednesday night's battle with identical records of 9-9 overall and 5-1 in SUNYAC play. The Knights put their perfect home record of 5-0 on the line in Schrader Gym. They matched Brockport's showing from last weekend, sweeping both Buffalo State and Fredonia 3-0.
 
North Country Challenge: This weekend Brockport is heading to the northern region of New York for more tournament style action. The team will take on St. Lawrence at 7pm up in Canton on Friday to open the weekend slate. Up next will be an 11am meeting with Clarkson in Potsdam. Finally, the group will close out the trip against Skidmore at 4pm back in Canton.
 
Up Next: The Golden Eagles will return to The Vlog next week on Tuesday, October 24^th. They will host Nazareth University for a non-conference matchup at 6pm.
