Ithaca, NY – On Sunday, the SUNY Brockport gymnastics team competed at Cornell University's Big Red Invitational. Posting a season-high score of 192.625 to take second place, finishing only behind host Cornell's score of 193.475.
With a 48.4250 on the vault, the Golden Eagles had the best score for the event at the meet and set a new season-high.
Sydney Schumaker's season-high score of 9.825 led the way for the squad in the event.
Maren Eramo also set a new season-best on the vault, putting up a 9.750.
Kirsten Paultre and
Kyra Figurelli both scored a 9.650 in the event, while
Emma Grace Sargent put up a 9.550.
Next up was the uneven bars, where the Green and Gold once again set a season-high with a 47.875.
Emma Grace Sargent had the team's best score for this event, putting up a 9.775 for her season-high.
Rachel Swick's score of 9.700 was second for the team on the bars.
Gabbi Gare stepped up for a score of 9.575, while
Kyra Figurelli had a 9.425 on the day for a new season-best.
Sydney Schumaker was the final scorer for the event, posting a 9.400.
For the third event in a row on Sunday, the Golden Eagles finished with a season-high on the balance beam with a 47.650.
Natalie Galioto's 9.825 was a personal-best for the year and the squad's best on the day. Freshman
Cali Czarcinski registered a career-high 9.775 on the day. Both
Emmie White and
Maya Pecoraro had scores of 9.400.
Sydney Schumaker contributed with her 9.250 on the beam.
Brockport finished up the day with a 48.675 on the floor, as three gymnasts hit 9.800 or higher.
Kirsten Paultre's 9.825 was the team's best for the event, tying her season-high.
Emmie White hit a season-high score of 9.800, tying teammate
Kyra Figurelli who also scored a 9.800.
Rachel Swick scored a 9.650 and
Lauren Blair put up a 9.600.
The squad wrapped up the trip to Cornell University in second place, behind only the Big Red. The following is the full listing of team scores at the meet:
