Bridgeport, CT – The Golden Eagle gymnastics team went 2-1 out at the University of Bridgeport's Alumni Meet. They scored a 191.450 to defeat Rhode Island (184.225) and Bridgeport (191.200), but fell to West Chester (193.425).
Starting off on the floor exercise, Brockport scored a 48.425 for the second highest score on the event.
Kyra Figurelli's 9.775 led the team and was the third best score on the day on the floor.
Natalie Galioto put up a 9.700 and
Lauren Blair scored a 9.675.
Rachel Swick added a 9.650, while
Maya Pecoraro registered a 9.625.
The second rotation saw the Green and Gold take to the vault. The team had the highest score of the day on the event, posting a 48.250.
Putting up a 9.775 on the vault,
Sydney Schumaker had the second highest individual score for the event.
Maren Eramo tied for fourth with her score of 9.725, while
Kyra Figurelli tied for seventh in the event with a 9.625.
Emma Grace Sargent contributed with a 9.575 and
Natalie Galioto added her score of 9.550.
The Golden Eagles then went on to hit a 48.150 on the uneven bars in their third event of the day. This would be the second highest score on the bars at the meet, as they had three of the top five scores.
Emma Grace Sargent paced the squad with a second-place score of 9.775 on the bars.
Taylor Bushey was close behind, tying for the third-best score with a 9.725. Tied for fifth in the event was
Rachel Swick's score of 9.625.
Sydney Schumaker posted a 9.525, while
Gabbi Gare added a 9.500.
Brockport finished the meet up on the balance beam, scoring a 46.625 for third in the event.
Sydney Schumaker and
Natalie Galioto both scored a 9.500 to lead the team on the beam.
Olivia Stinnette scored a 9.375,
Cali Czarcinski had a 9.200, and
Maya Pecoraro added a 9.050.
The Golden Eagles are now 14-2 this year with just two weeks left until NCGA East Regionals. They return home next weekend on March 4
th for Senior Day against Cortland and Cornell at 2pm.
