New York, NY – On Saturday the Golden Eagle women's track and field team finished up its work at the AARTFC Indoor Championships. With a final team score of 34 points, Brockport placed sixth at the meet.
Sarah Crockett scored five points in the weight throw event, recording a distance of 16.58 meters to earn fourth place. Her season-best throw of 17.18 meters ranked 18
th in the nation heading into the weekend and will qualify her for nationals if it holds its spot in the top 20.
Leaping a distance of 11.27 meters,
Mia Montgomery placed fifth in the triple jump. Her performance was a season-best for the event and scored the Green and Gold four points.
In the high jump competition,
Michaela Levesque hit a season-best clearance height of 1.60 meters for sixth place and three team points. Teammate
Sarah Killip just missed out on scoring for the squad with a ninth place mark of 1.55 meters.
Running a 2:19.46,
Jennifer Metz scored two points with a seventh-place mark in the 800-meter run.
After earning a spot in the event finals with yesterday's performance,
Sarah Levine took seventh in the 60-meter dash finals on Saturday. Her time of 8.01 was good to score two points for Brockport.
Clara Sensini just missed out on scoring in the 400-meter, taking ninth with a season-best time of 59.19.
The Golden Eagles wait the final results from around the country to determine which athletes have punched their tickets to nationals. The top 20 marks in the nation qualify to compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships next weekend in Birmingham, AL.
