Golden Eagles Shine at Home & at Bucknell on Saturday

Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport track and field team split up for Saturday with athletes competing at home in the Brockport Invitational and at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic.
 
In the men's 1500 Jonathan Zavala placed 24th with a time of 3:49.86 to set a new school record for the event.
 
Jennifer Metz ran a personal-record time of 4:49.20 in the 1500 meter at the meet out at Bucknell to take 16th place.
 
In the 3000-meter steeplechase Dillon VanDemortel ran a 9:38.03 for 37th out at Bucknell. On the women's side Veronica Dailey took 43rd with a time of 11:43.03. Kerry Flower clocked in at 36:48.70 for 23rd in the women's 10,000-meter.
 
Gabriel Winters-Bona ran a 31:37.23 in the men's 10,000-meter for 14th place at Bucknell. Jared Smith ran a 15:00.52 in the 5000 meter.
 
Back at the home meet, Anthony Ruiz placed fifth in the men's 10,000-meter with a time of 35:38.46. Leah Bisgrove ran a 13:18.57 for eighth place in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Daniel Casey took third in the men's steeplechase with his 10:18.67.
 
Sarah Davis placed ninth in the 1500 meter with a time of 5:05.53. Courtney Bostic ran a 1:02.90 for ninth place in the 400-meter dash. Mia Montgomery took second in the 100-meter dash with a 12.77.
 
With a distance of 5.72 meters, Mia Montgomery takes a spot inside the top 10 nationally and is the third best long jump in program history. She also earned third place in the triple jump with an 11.22.
 
D'Andre Huter took fourth in the men's triple jump with a mark of 13.18 meters. Hunter Zangerle earned fifth place with a 6.75 in the long jump.
 
Tess Eichner earned a top three finish in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.25 meters. Paul Dunbar (4.30), Tyler Miller (4.15), and Chris Weiner (4.15) placed first, third, and fourth in the men's pole vault.
 
Sarah Crockett won the women's shot put with a distance of 13.27 meters. She also finished third with a 45.57 in the hammer throw. In the discus, Crockett performed well again with a 39.18 for second place.
 
Alex Rood took first place in the men's shot put with his throw of 14.45 meters.
 
Sarah Killip won the women's high jump, clearing a height of 1.57 meters. Rebecca Heuler's distance of 35.74 meters was good for second in the javelin.
 
Matthew Jackson threw a 55.54 to take first place in the men's hammer throw. Matt Muscolo placed fifth in the men's discus with a mark of 38.46.
