Box Score Ithaca, NY - The SUNY Brockport field hockey team suffered its first loss of the 2023 season against Ithaca College 2-0 on Wednesday, September 20^th. Brockport moved to 6-1 on the season following the loss.
 
The Bombers quickly pulled ahead in the first period, with Ithaca's Avery Moses scoring on the first shot of the game, putting Brockport behind, 1-0, 37 seconds into the first. Bailey Lazore fired a shot on goal but was denied by Alex Clough in the first.
 
Ella Buchannan made 3 saves in the second period, but Ithaca's  Brenna Schoenfeld, snuck in a goal with just 18 seconds left in the half.  Buchanan would finish with 9 saves, and shut out Ithaca in the second half.
 
The Golden Eagles would threaten with 5 minutes remaining, but Tiffany Andres shot was saved by Alex Clough, who would earn the shutout.
 
Brockport will look to rebound against New Paltz at home on Saturday, September 23^rd at 11 am for the start of conference play.
