Field Hockey Suffers First Loss at Ithaca

Box Score Ithaca, NY - The SUNY Brockport field hockey team suffered its first loss of the 2023 season against Ithaca College 2-0 on Wednesday, September 20th. Brockport moved to 6-1 on the season following the loss.
 
The Bombers quickly pulled ahead in the first period, with Ithaca's Avery Moses scoring on the first shot of the game, putting Brockport behind, 1-0, 37 seconds into the first. Bailey Lazore fired a shot on goal but was denied by Alex Clough in the first.
 
Ella Buchannan made 3 saves in the second period, but Ithaca's  Brenna Schoenfeld, snuck in a goal with just 18 seconds left in the half.  Buchanan would finish with 9 saves, and shut out Ithaca in the second half.
 
The Golden Eagles would threaten with 5 minutes remaining, but Tiffany Andres shot was saved by Alex Clough, who would earn the shutout.
 
Brockport will look to rebound against New Paltz at home on Saturday, September 23rd at 11 am for the start of conference play.
