Brockport, NY - The Brockport field hockey team will look to return to its winning ways as they head to Rochester to face off with Roberts Wesleyan on Tuesday, September 26
th at 5 pm. This weekend the Golden Eagles will return home to face off with SUNY Cortland on Saturday, September 30
th at 2 pm.

Last Time Out: Brockport suffered its first two losses of 2023 this past week, falling on the road at Ithaca College, 2-0, and losing at home to New Paltz, 3-1. Against Ithaca,
Ella Buchanan turned in one of her best performances of the season. She blanked the Bombers in the 2
nd half and made a total of nine saves. Against New Paltz, Brockport failed to overcome a 3-goal 2
nd period from the Hawks to fall 3-1.
Bailey Lazore recorded 3 shots on goal, including the lone goal by either team in the second half. The Golden Eagles fell to 6-2 in 2023 following last week's action and are 0-1 in conference play.
Midway Check-In: Nearly halfway through the 2023 season, multiple Golden Eagles rank among the nation and conference finest statistically. Through eight games, three Golden Eagles have accumulated 10 points or more, including
Paige Thowe (10),
Tiffany Andres (11), and
Quinn Guy (16). Â
Ella Buchanan ranks 19
th in the country and second in the SUNYAC in goals against average (0.87), as well as second in the conference in save percentage (81%).
Quinn Guy lands second in the SUNYAC in both points per game (2.29), and goals per game (1.0). As a unit, the Golden Eagles rank inside the top 25 in the country in several statistical categories, including goals per game (20
th, 3.62), points per game (24
th, 9.12), and scoring margin (14
th, 4.14).

Scouting Roberts:Â The Redhawks have started the 2023 season 1-5, most recently losing in Pennsylvania to East Stroudsburg University 10-0. Â Roberts has been led by freshman goalie Avery Richardson, who has accumulated an impressive 116 saves in 6 starts and over 300 minutes of game action.

Scouting Cortland: The Red Dragons have started the 2023 season red hot, starting the 2023 season 6-0 with a 2-0 mark in SUNYAC play. Ranked 18th nationally, they most recently slipped past Geneseo 1-0 to preserve their undefeated year. Junior Gianna Trunfio leads Cortland in scoring with six goals (12 points). Brockport will look to end Cortland's 16-game winning streak in the head-to-head series.
