Brockport, NY - The Golden Eagles field hockey team will return home to take on Nazareth College on Wednesday, September 6
th at 6 pm in home opener action.

Last Time Out: The Green and Gold looked dominant in the season opening win at Keuka, winning 3-0 thanks to an incredible defensive effort. Brockport held Keuka College to just one shot on goal for the entirety of the contest, with goalie
Ella Buchanan earning the shutout.
Bailey Lazore was perfect from the field, scoring two goals on two shots with
Emmalee Moore adding another goal to power the Brockport offense. Friday's win continued Brockport's dominance over Keuka, with the Green and Gold taking all 12 matchups since 2006 and outscoring Keuka 14-0 across the last two head-to-head meetings.

Defensive Presence: The defensive pairing of
Skye Exware and
Mary Young allowed no opportunities for the Wolves, playing the entirety of the contest and going two entire periods of play (2
nd and 3
rd) without giving up a shot attempt.
Abby Chalmers also positively impacted the defensive efforts for the Golden Eagles, along with adding 2 shots offensively.
Ella Buchanan was only called on to make one save in net to secure the shutout.

Starting Off Hot: Graduate student
Bailey Lazore picked up where she left off in 2022, recording her third career multi-goal game. After the season opener, Lazore looks poised to repeat as Brockport's leading goal scorer. again this season. Across her career she has played exceptionally against the Wolves, recording eight points with three goals in four games against Keuka.

Scouting Nazareth: The Golden Flyers have begun the 2023 season 0-2, most recently losing at home to Wooster. 5-0. Nazareth is coming off a disappointing 2022 campaign that saw the Flyers go 4-15 with all 4 wins coming in Empire 8 play, to own a 4-5 mark in conference play. Last year's matchup saw the Golden Eagles escape with a 2-1 victory on the road at NLPA Field thanks to
Bailey Lazore's go-ahead goal in the 53
rd minute. The head-to-head series between both teams has been competitive, Brockport has taken the last three head to head matchups with the last eight games going evenly between the Golden Eagles and Golden Flyers.
