Providence, RI – On Saturday the Golden Eagle gymnastics team defeated Rhode Island, Cortland, and Springfield at the Rhode Island College Quad Meet. Brockport finished with a final team score of 188.375 and is now 4-0 on the season.
The Green and Gold put forth its best performance of the meet on the vault, scoring a 47.650 to win the event.
Emma Grace Sargent scored a 9.700 as the event winner. Teammates
Kirsten Paultre and
Maren Eramo both earned marks of 9.575 to tie for second place on the vault.
Brockport's second strongest event of the day was a 47.200 score on the floor exercise.
Natalie Galioto and
Laken Sooy both scored a 9.625 with their routines to lead the team's effort on the floor.
The Golden Eagles posted the highest score of the meet on the bars, posting a 47.125.
Emma Grace Sargent took first place once again, hitting a 9.700 to win her second event of the day.
Taylor Bushey placed third on the bars with her score of 9.500.
On the balance beam the squad finished with a score of 46.400. With a 9.500 on the beam,
Natalie Galioto posted Brockport's highest mark for the event on Saturday.
Laken Sooy had the next best score for the team, earning a 9.350.
The Golden Eagles will be on the road once again next weekend for their next meet. They head to Pennsylvania where they will compete at West Chester University of Pennsylvania starting at 1pm.
