Brockport, NY – This weekend the Brockport men's basketball team is on the road for a pair of SUNYAC matchups. Brockport will face No. 10 Oswego on Friday night at 7:30pm, before heading to Cortland for a 4pm tip-off on Saturday.

Big Matchup on the Lake: Friday night's game is a big one for the Golden Eagles on the road. They take on the No. 10 ranked team in the nation in Oswego, who also defeated Brockport last year for the SUNYAC Title. Last season the Golden Eagles upset the Lakers on the road, 58-47, and will look to do so again to open 2024.
Team Leaders: Tony Arnold has done it all for the squad early in the season. He leads Brockport in points (105), assists (21), steals (15), as well as free throws made (24) and attempted (37).
Caquan Wester (5.7 reb/g) and
Jacob Oka (5.0 reb/g) currently lead the effort on the glass for the team.
Zachary Rice leads the Green and Gold with 14 made 3-pointers, while
Adewale Fasanmi leads the team with seven blocked shots.
Scouting Oswego: The Lakers bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 79-50 win over Pomona-Pitzer at the end of December. They enter the weekend 8-1 overall and 2-0 in SUNYAC play as the No. 10 team in the country. #23 Jeremiah Sparks is having another great season for Oswego. He leads the team with 20.9 points a night with shooting splits of 48.5/37.1/89.2. Sparks also includes team-highs of 23 made 3-pointers, 15 steals, and 34 assists.
Looking at the Red Dragons: Cortland enters the weekend 5-4 overall and 2-0 in the conference, with a Friday night matchup against Geneseo at 7:30pm. The Red Dragons most recently defeated Neumann, 69-66, just before the start of the new year. They have five players averaging double-digits so far this season. Aaron Coston is the team's leading scorer (15.4 pts/g), while Kareem Lubin is the leading rebounder (7.0 reb/g). Lubin, Coston, and teammate Danny Linehan are all shooting over 40% from long range.
