Box Score Brockport, NY - The Brockport field hockey team extended its winning streak to seven games, defeating Hartwick at home, 1-0, on Saturday, October 12^th. Brockport improved to 10-3 overall and 5-0 in Empire 8 contests.
 
Posting 11 wins in the 2023 season, the Golden Eagles have now posted back-to-back 10+ win seasons for the first time since 1980-81.
 
Ella Buchanan (W, 8-2), kept the Golden Eagles afloat throughout, making three stops in the opening frame as the Hawks outshot the Golden Eagles 7-0 in the first period (3 SOG).
 
Posting just one shot on goal in the first half, Brockport made the most of its opportunity in the second period. Gianna Salerno found Samantha Choate for what would serve as the game-deciding goal at the 25:56 mark.
 
The Golden Eagle defense settled down in the second half, allowing just six Hartwick shots (4 SOG) compared to 13 in the first half.
 
Buchanan would guide Brockport to victory, saving four more Hartwick chances in the second half to seal the 1-0 Brockport win. She would finish with 10 saves for her fourth straight shutout and sixth clean sheet of the season.
 
Allison Greene recorded the second of two Brockport shots on goal in the match.
