Brockport, NY- For back-to-back weeks and the third time this season, Ella Buchanan was named Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, October 14^th.
 
In another 2-0 week for the Golden Eagles, Buchanan guided Brockport to 1-0 wins over Oswego and Hartwick, totaling 11 saves on the week across 120 minutes between the pipes.
 
Against Hartwick, Buchanan put together her best performance of the season, saving all 10 shots she faced to secure Brockport's 10^th win. Following an 11-win season in 2023, the 2023-24 seasons marked the first time the Golden Eagles have won 10+ games in back-to-back seasons since the 1980-81 seasons.
 
Buchanan currently leads the Empire 8 in nearly every goaltending statistic, including save percentage (.838), shutouts (6), and average goals allowed (.957). Buchanan has also allowed the fewest goals of all eligible goalies (11) in the E8.
 
The Golden Eagles currently sit at 10-3 overall with an undefeated 5-0 mark in conference play. Brockport will host Oneonta in non-conference play on Wednesday, October 16^th at 4 p.m.
