Brockport, NY – The Brockport men and women's cross country teams traveled to Geneseo for the 43rd Annual Mike Woods Invitational and the last meet before the Empire 8 Championships. 

The men's team had a day coming in seventh place out of 33 teams overall in their 8k race with Jonathan Zavala taking first for Brockport and good for 16th overall with a time of 24:43.4. 

Jared Smith crossed the line coming in second for the Golden Eagles at 25:12.7 and Patrick Klinger clinched third place at a time of 25:28.4.

Coming in fourth for Brockport was Charlie Alekson at 25:58.1 and just six seconds later, Sean Killip crossed the line coming in fifth for the team with a time of 26:04.8. 

In the women's 8k race, Mia Vizcaino led the squad coming in first for the Green and Gold and 51st overall at a time of 23:04.5. 

Coming in second was Ethne Degan making her mark on the board with a time of 23:16.5. Clinching third for Brockport was Julianne Wilson, crossing the line with a time at and taking fourth just seven seconds later was Sierra Basco with a personal record of 23:55.1. And in fifth for Brockport, with a time of 24:15.3 was Leah Lloyd. 

Next Up – The squad is set to compete in the Empire 8 Championships which are being hosted by Houghton University on Saturday, November 2nd.
