Box Score Brockport, NY - The Brockport field hockey team was defeated in the regular season finale against St. John Fisher, 1-0, on Thursday, October 31
st. The Golden Eagles finish the regular season 13-4 with a 7-2 mark in E8 play. The Golden Eagles have earned a first-round bye as the #2 seed in the Empire 8 Tournament.

The first half was a defensive stalemate, with neither team able to get on the scoreboard. The Cardinals had plenty of corner chances in the first half, six to Brockport's zero.

At the 24:58 mark of the contest,
Mary Young would make an excellent defensive save in the crease, keeping the game tied 0-0.Â
Ella Buchanan would make two big stops in the opening half herself.

Entering the second half tied 0-0, the two teams would combine for 11 shots in the third (6-5 Fisher). Both defenses would stand tall, however, with Buchanan making three more saves in the third.

Emmalee Moore would come up big on defense in the third, making two defense saves in the quarter in an excellent effort. Â

Following another stop by Buchanan, the Cardinals would finally break through with Mary Kate McPhee scoring the game-deciding goal.

Terralyn McLaughlin would threaten the lead with a shot on goal at the 54:48 mark, but the Cardinals would hold on for the 1-0 win.

Paige Thowe led the Golden Eagles with five shots on goal in a strong effort.

Ella Buchanan (L, 11-4) was strong throughout in defeat, making seven saves for the Green and Gold.
