Volleyball to Conclude Conference Play on the Road

Brockport, NY – The Brockport volleyball team is on the road this weekend for the final two E8 matchups of the regular season. The Golden Eagles face Russell Sage on Friday at 6pm and Hartwick on Saturday at 2pm.
 
Last Weekend: Brockport lost a pair of conference clashes during last weekend's set of games. The team fell at home to Alfred, 3-2, for Brockport's first home loss since the 2022 season. The next day it was Houghton taking the win, 3-0, over the Green and Gold. Following the weekend the squad is now at 13-8 overall and 6-3 in the Empire 8.
 
Postseason Clinched: At 6-3 in conference play, Brockport has already clinched its spot in the 2024 Empire 8 Women's Volleyball Tournament.C urrently the No. 7 seed, the Golden Eagles can finish as high as second or as low as seventh. Brockport holds head-to-head tiebreakers on Geneseo and Fisher but lose head-to-head against Alfred and Houghton. Brockport plays Russell Sage and Hartwick this weekend, which will finalize the standings for the E8 Championships.
 
Looking at Sage: The Russell Sage Gators enter the weekend at 13-12 overall and 3-6 in E8 play. The Gators most recently fell to Keuka, 3-1, in their last outing on the road. With just one win in the last six matches, Sage is hoping to still claim its spot in the postseason this weekend. The team hosts Brockport at 6pm on Friday ahead of Saturday's 1pm matchup with Geneseo.
 
Scouting Hartwick: The Hartwick Hawks are having a tremendous season, currently at 17-2 overall and 7-2 in the Empire 8. The winners of four in a row heading into the weekend, the Hawks hope to remain undefeated at home where they are 5-0 this year. Hartwick will host Geneseo on Friday night ahead of the Saturday matchup with Brockport.
 
Up Next: Following the conclusion of conference play for the regular season, the Golden Eagles have two non-conference matches left before the postseason begins. They will host Clarkson at 5pm on Friday (11/8) and RIT on Saturday at 10am (11/9).
